Queer Voices: LGBTQ+ Porn and Inclusive Creator Collaborations

Partnering with queer creators to celebrate diversity.

The history of adult entertainment is rich with innovators who broke boundaries, challenged societal norms, and paved the way for greater representation and inclusivity. Among them, gay, lesbian, and Trans pioneers of porn played a crucial role in shaping the industry, not only by creating space for authentic queer expression but also by pushing for visibility and acceptance in a world that often marginalizes their identities.

From the bold filmmakers of the 1970’s to the fearless performers and directors of today, these innovators have redefined what adult content can be, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire and empower new generations.

A Short History of Queer Representation in Porn

Queer representation in porn has arguably existed for as long as porn itself. Some archaeologists have even speculated that ancient cave paintings, such as those found in Grotta dell’Addaura in Sicily, dating back to around 11,000 BCE, depict same-sex erotic scenes.

With the advent of mass printing, queer visibility began to take more concrete form. Publications like The Ladder (The Lesbian Review) and One Magazine offered lesbian and gay perspectives in the mid-20th century. Alongside these were more explicit magazines such as Drum, which launched in the 1960’s and was marketed to gay men. Drum is often credited as the first U.S. magazine to feature full-frontal male nudity.

The transition to video brought similar developments. One of the earliest surviving pornographic films, A Free Ride (1915), includes scenes of two women engaging with each other before participating in heterosexual sex. Historically, lesbian scenes were often portrayed through the male gaze, leaving authentic depictions of women-loving-women relationships to flourish in more niche or underground spaces.

In 1929, The Surprise of a Knight became the first known film to depict exclusively homosexual intercourse. Fast forward to 1971, and Boys in the Sand, directed by pioneering queer filmmaker Wakefield Poole, made history not only for its explicit gay content but also for being the only pornographic film ever reviewed by The New York Times.

These early trailblazers laid the foundation for today’s queer creators, many of whom are active contributors to the Pornhub community, continuing to expand and diversify representation in adult entertainment.

Trailblazing Queer Creators on Pornhub

At Pornhub, authenticity and diversity are core values that have shaped our platform from the very beginning. We've proudly supported a wide range of creators, many of whom have been with us for over a decade. After analyzing years of data, we identified a couple of standout Models who still create content to this day.

One of our earliest lesbian content creators, Gina Monelli, has had a longstanding presence on the platform. Since 2012, she has expanded her repertoire and amassed more than 100 million video views and 69K subscribers. Most recently, Gina participated in our Pornhub x WIFEY Viewers’ Choice Contest collaboration, where her video ranked among the top 25 submissions.

Camran Mac, a dedicated PornhubGay Model, has been sharing his work on the platform for over ten years. In that time, he garnered over 30 million video views and 24K subscribers. His consistent contributions and fan support earned him a nomination for Favorite Gay Model at the 6th Annual Pornhub Awards.

These creators exemplify the vibrant and diverse community that continues to thrive on Pornhub, and we’re proud to celebrate their contributions.

Celebrating Queer Creators With Data

We believe in highlighting the incredible impact of our diverse community. Our statisticians just wrapped Pride Insights, a special data-driven research project that showcases popular queer Models, trending search terms, and the categories fans viewed the most. Pride Insights 2025 offers a vibrant snapshot of what resonated most with audiences.

In addition to Pride Insights, we also publish Trans Day of Visibility Insights, spotlighting Trans creators and trends. These insights have included Models like Daisy Taylor and Emma Rose, who were featured in publications such as Pride.com following the release of our data.

Our commitment to celebrating diversity continues with our biggest data release of the year, The Year in Review Insights. This comprehensive report includes the most searched gay terms, top-viewed categories, and the most-watched performers on PornhubGay, including Trans creators.

Through data, we’re proud to amplify the importance of queer and Trans creators and help them shine both on and off the platform.

Engaging with Our Diverse Creator Community

We’re proud to support and connect with our creator community through sponsored events, workshops, and in-person meetups. Some of the events we've participated in include the Trans Erotica Awards (TEAs), Queer Prom, GRABBYS Europe, and more.

These gatherings provide Models with the opportunity to engage with our team directly, ask questions about maximizing their presence on Pornhub, receive personalized account optimization tips, and share valuable feedback.

We also use these events as a chance to preview new merch and collect insights on product sizing and fit. For example, after the overwhelmingly positive response to our Logo Tank Top, originally given away as a promotional item at the 2024 GRABBYS Europe, we decided to make it available on Pornhub Apparel so everyone who wanted one could purchase it online.

Collaborating With Diversity At Our Core

The Pornhub brand has become a cultural touchstone—recognized across media, entertainment, and is a household name within the adult industry. With that level of visibility, we’re proud to collaborate with artists and designers from a wide range of backgrounds to merge sex and art in innovative ways that push boundaries.

Most recently, we collaborated with designer Chris Habana for the 7th Annual Pornhub Awards. He brought the Western themed fantasy to life, fusing country grit with high fashion in custom looks for our Brand Ambassadors and special guests.

Queer designer Charles Jeffrey Loverboy teamed up with us on a project that explores themes of empowerment and reclamation—amplifying new voices within Trans, non-binary, and gender-fluid communities.

We did a collaboration with jewelry designer Alan Crocetti, where we launched the provocative #NoShameInDesire campaign, featuring a custom chastity necklace with a caged cock pendant, boldly branded with the Pornhub logo. A statement piece that reclaims desire, kink, and self-expression with pride.

We also did a collaboration with Shayne Oliver, the iconic founder of Hood By Air, and his namesake label, The Shayne Oliver Group. The campaign, featuring Natassia Dreams, explored the intersection of fashion, fetish, and fantasy. You can watch the full video here.

As part of our fashion activation for the 5th Annual Pornhub Awards, we partnered with queer designer Luis De Javier to create custom looks for Pornhub Brand Ambassadors, select nominees, and a journalist from Interview Magazine covering the event. We also proudly sponsored his highly anticipated debut at New York Fashion Week, where icons like Julia Fox, Lourdes Leon, Eartheater, and Gabriette walked the runway in a show that celebrated radical self-expression.

During Paris Fashion Week 2021, Pornhub collaborated with Ludovic de Saint Sernin, a queer designer celebrated for his sensual and provocative designs. On his channel you can watch a queer film made by Matt Lambert.
