Michael Del Ray is smiling and laughing his way through shooting his favorite scenes. Read on to hear about the joy he brings to the set, the misconceptions people have about bisexual performers, Models you should have on your radar, and much more!

What does Bisexual Awareness Week mean to you as an adult performer?

To me, Bisexual Awareness Week means celebrating accomplishments and taking great pride in the work of all bisexual performers working in the adult industry, regardless of their sexual orientation. In fact, it’s about celebrating the diversity and inclusion we get to demonstrate so proudly.

What are misconceptions that people tend to have about you as a bisexual women/man in the industry, and how do you try to change that?

Common misconceptions about bisexual porn can vary. Anything from small things, like the sexual positions we do in the video as opposed to what we might like in real life, to things more extreme and obscure, like the biases we are faced with. Particularly that we are somehow lying about our sexuality. Or, in some ways, inferior. There’s even the myth we practice less safe sex. It can be strangely frustrating to defend something that’s so true and normal for oneself, and should bond us with our other queer colleagues, but often, we feel the bias from those members of the community as well.

Tell us something most people are surprised to learn about you as a bisexual performer.

I would say people are surprised to learn that as bi performers, we have a lot of fun! Smiles on set are everywhere. The energy is electric and happy. I don’t know if it’s the freedom of our sexuality or what, but everyone always leaves laughing and happy.

Do you feel bisexuality has become fetishized over the years? Does this affect your work, and in what way?

No, I don’t think bisexuality has become fetishized. If anything, I would say the opposite. I think with cultural norms changing in the world we’ve reached a space where bi porn is just a new normal. I think instead of being sidelined, marginalized or niche, it’s blending in and filling up a lot of the industry. Pun intended!

Does being bisexual make it possible to work more in the adult industry? What are the benefits and challenges?

Bisexual porn can definitely open avenues in the adult industry. But too often, it can close them as well. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of stigma with blending queer performers with straight performers. This comes from dated prejudices that are still a part of our industry. On the upside, being a bisexual performer creates a lot of opportunity for things like content creation or collabs, as well as opening some doors on the studio side.

Is there more of a stigma in the adult industry surrounding bisexual men vs women? How are bisexual men and women viewed differently?

I don’t want to speak for stigmas towards bisexual women, but I will say those girls are tough and talented and I love working with them. For men however, bisexual porn can limit us to get stuck and cast almost exclusively in bisexual porn. While there are plenty of studios that welcome crossover performers, it can still cause some static, and it’s just more difficult getting your foot in the door with some of the major studios.

What advice do you have for other bisexual performers who are new to the industry?

My number one advice to bisexual performers in the industry is easy: make friends. Most of the work you get early on is “fill in” work, so often your friends can pass you scenes. Be on time, stay professional, and be someone people are happy to work with.

Pornhub is the perfect place for new fans to discover your X-rated content with its millions of daily visitors. What tactics do you use to attract a bisexual audience and how do you leverage meta-data to do this?

Luckily for me, Pornhub’s algorithms have helped my bi porn find its audience. If people are searching for bi porn, it seems I come up. Outside of that, I push all my content through different media platforms to push users to my Pornhub pages.

Imagine yourself in a dream location with dream collaborators, where is the set and who are the people? Set the stage for us!

My dream collaborators and location would be something in the south of France, oceanside. I’d use one of my best buds, Dante Colle, as the other male performer and Eva Lovia (our favorite pornstar) as the female talent. As for the scene… Well in a perfect world you’ll see it on Pornhub soon!

Which bisexual model should we all have on our radar and why?

I’d have to give a shoutout to my boys Cliff Jenson and Roman Todd. They’ve been making a big splash in the bi industry and are definitely worth a watch!

What has been your favorite bisexual scene to film and why?

My favorite bisexual scene was filmed by Jim Powers, and it had me, Dante and Ella Reese. The title was Naughty Bi Nature. I’ve known both of these performers for quite some time. I actually grew up with Ella and in some ways brought her into the industry, and then Dante dated her. So yeah! It was a very interesting scene! Plus, me and Dante had an awesome fight scene!
